The Oplet Runtime Environment
The Oplet Runtime Environment (ORE) provides the basic lifecycle management functions of the OpenetLab system. It requires services to be organized into deployment units called oplets that conform to well-defined conventions and interfaces.
The ORE is currently support on the following platforms:
- Accelar 1000 series routing switches
- Linux
- Solaris
The ORE and its SDK are currently based on Java™ 1.1. The SDK contains a version of the ORE that runs under the standard Sun JDK JVM on Linux and Solaris hosts. It also contains the oplets containing the standard services, documentation for the system, and some simple examples. You can use the ORE SDK to develop your own oplets and deploy them on the platforms listed above.
